Joan Childress, 74 of Bauxite, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018. She was born to the late, Howard and Phyllis White on April 13, 1943 in New Castle, Indiana. She was a substitute teacher for Bauxite schools. She was a Reserve Deputy for Saline County and a member of Eastern Star. She loved all her animals.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jayne Razor; best friend, Sarah Combs; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Adams Childress; and two beloved dogs, Taz and Daisy Mae

She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Marvin Childress; six children, Donald Childress (Kimberly), Teressa Callahan (Matt), Paul Childress, Craig Childress (Collette), Bill Childress (Tracy), and Laura Lambert (Butch); twenty-two grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; sister, Judi Neu (Clyde).

A celebration of life will be held at Mt. Olive Baptist Church on Mt. Olive Road in Bauxite on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. with the visitation one hour prior.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Saline County Humane Society.
