IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alberta Marie
Shemwell
March 16, 1946 – April 18, 2022
Alberta Marie (Hinson) Shemwell, 76, entered into the presence of Jesus on Monday, April 18, 2022. She was a faithful member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church. She lived her life serving the Lord and her family.
She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Albert and Ruth Porter. In 1961, she married her first love, David Hinson, and they were blessed with four children. Prior to his death in 1998, their marriage of 37 years was evidence of the love they had for each other as well as their family. In 2003 she remarried, and with Rick by her side she enjoyed her later years attending church and traveling.
God's plan for her life was richly fulfilled as she joyfully followed her Lord and Savior with a loving, sweet spirit. With her inner beauty and infectious smile her love for Christ enabled her in implanting "the seed" of Christianity in the lives of her children. She also lived a life of love and service as "Mimi" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, which was her greatest desire and most rewarding of all her accomplishments.
She is survived by her husband, Rick Shemwell. Her four children, David (Sandra) Hinson, Mark (Elaine) Hinson, Kim (Mike) Jobe, and Robbin (John) Dunkum. Her eight grandchildren, Audra (Daniel) Montano, Zack (Kate) Hinson, Drew (Katie) Hinson, Jordan (Kelsey) Hinson, Korey (Amber) Jobe, Kaleb (Natalie) Jobe, Forrest (Emily) Dunkum, and Davidson (Hattie) Dunkum. Her nine great grandchildren, OIiver and Benji Montano, Lina, Mabel and Otis Hinson, Luke Jobe, and Henry, Easton, and Blakely Jobe. One brother, Jerry (Juanita) Gage, and a host of honored family and friends which include Fred and Adele Shemwell, Rebecca (Mark) Brown, Rachel Irving, Ruth Shemwell, Marshall Shemwell, Kaila Burge, Emily Schafer, Irene Birdsong and Linda Sherwood.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ruth Porter; and one sister, Gracie Byrd.
A special thanks to her Sunday School Class at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church, for all of their love and support.
