Betty Jo Twiggs, 91, of Bryant, Arkansas went to be with her heavenly father on Tuesday, October 18th, 2023. She was born to, Esther Muriel McCall, on Tuesday, June 14th, 1932, in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Betty was a compassionate Christian woman who practiced God first and family, strength, and unity. Betty worked as a phone operator and realtor along with volunteer work as the church florist and League of Women Voters. She was a high school cheerleader and was valedictorian of her high school. Betty was a mighty prayer warrior for anyone who needed prayer. She also helped build a racially diverse church in South Africa during apartheid.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Robert E. Twiggs; twin sister, Bobby Jean Thornton; sister, Mary L. McCall; grandson, Robert Goswami; and mother, Esther Muriel McCall.
She is survived her brother, Edward Bishop McCall III; daughter, Virginia Wright ( Jim Wright); son, Kenneth Twiggs(Brigitte); four grandchildren, Veena Morrison, Michael Goswami, Melanie Twiggs, and Kathrin Grasruck; four great grandchildren, Taylor Morrison, Maddy Morrison, Liam Post, and Jackson Goswami.
The family would like to say a special thanks to Betty's care team, Brenda Kent, Edward McCall III, and Jimmy Carroll Thornton
Celebration of life will be held Wednesday, October 25th, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church of Bryant, with burial to follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The First Baptist Church or the Bryant Senior Center.
