Billy J. Carver, age 81 of Little Rock, took his first breath in heaven at 4:15a.m., on Tuesday, June 28, 2011.
Billy was born on April 22, 1930 in Steel, Missouri to the late William and Mattie Carver.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He loved fishing, supporting his church softball teams and working around his house and yard. But what he most enjoyed in life was spending time with his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. He worked at AMF for twenty five years, Pulaski County Special School District for twenty four years, and served ten years as a courier for St. Vincent's Family Clinic. He was also a member of Oak Park Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon for the past 37 years.
Mr. Carver is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Laverne Carver. One daughter, Lisa Hendricks (Chuck) of Bauxite and two sons; Greg Carver of Little Rock and Mike Carver (Tori) of Bryant. He is also survived by four granddaughters; Brianna and Amber Hendricks of Bauxite and Rachel and Shaylee Carver of Bryant and one great-grandson, Carson Hendricks, of Bauxite. Along with his brother, Terry Carver of Judsonia and three sisters; Faye Langston of Jacksonville, Jeanetta Hicks, also of Jacksonville and Joyce Watkins of Judsonia.
He is preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and one brother.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 on Friday, July 1, 2011 at Oak Park Baptist Church in Little Rock with Bro. David Harris Officiating.
Visitation will start at 10:00a.m. on the morning of the service at the church.
The family would especially like to thank all of the doctors and nurses at Hospice Home Care for their wonderful care and support during the time of Billy's illness.
