Bobby Eugene Howell 73, of Alexander passed away on June 20, 2011 with his family by his side. Mr. Howell was born on September 17, 1937 to Layton and Elizabeth Howell in Mabelvale, Arkansas. Bobby served in the United States Marines where he was a military policeman. He loved to golf, fish and was very involved in the campaign for Congressman Ray Thornton. Bobby was a member of the VFW for several years.
He is preceded in death by his father, Layton Howell; mother, Elizabeth Turley and two brothers, Charles Howell and Bob Turley.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Betty Howell; two daughters, Carmen Howell Coates (Craig) and Debora Kay Howell; four grandchildren, Dalton Coates, Rayleigh Coates, Bobby Eugene Daniel and Jeri Chris Daniel; one sister, Joyce; six brothers, Bill, James Thomas, Raymond, Peter, Roy and Chester "Woodie" and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who all loved him and will miss him dearly.
A celebration of Mr. Howell's life will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 11:00 at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 22, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant.
