Bobby Ray Sparks, Sr., age 78, of Benton, passed away on January 27, 2010 in Benton. Mr. Sparks was born on January 22, 1932 in Monticello, Arkansas to his parents Ray and Orpha Sparks. Bobby owned and operated Sparks Department Store in Downtown Benton for 34 years and loved airplanes, fast cars and children. His greatest love, later in life, was spending time with his grandchildren. Bobby is survived by his sons; Garry Sparks and wife, Marty, of Benton and Bobby Sparks, Jr. also of Benton. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Victor, Krysten, Anna, Taylor, Jared and Julie along with his siblings, Mary Ellen Morgan of Houston, Texas, Jimmy P. Sparks of Fayetteville and Peggy Trenham, of Prosper, Texas, and a host of nieces, nephews friends and relatives. Mr. Sparks is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Barbara Sue Sparks and his sister, Virginia Nell Sparks. A celebration of Bobby's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Dial & Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant, 501-847-9099. A private burial will be held at a later time.
