Obituary

Carroll Wayne Pickett, 90, of Little Rock passed away on April 12, 2023.He was born in McCrory, AR on December 16, 1932.

His wife of 65 years, Catherine Pickett and one great-grandchild, Asher Pickett, one brother, Roger Pickett, and his parents, Claude and Mary Pickett, precedes him in death.

He is survived by his brother, Charles Pickett of Fort Worth, TX and his sister, Wynona Shaver of San Jose, California, four sons, Russell (Toni) Pickett, Jerry (Denise) Pickett, Don (Cindy) Pickett, and Phil (Michele) Pickett, eight grandchildren, Ryan(Rebekah) Pickett, Brandy(Brad) Fischer, Eric (Jennifer) Pickett, Andrew (Samantha) Pickett, Tyler Pickett, Bryce (Hannah) Pickett, Alexa Pickett and Landon (Megan) Pickett, thirteen great-grandchildren, Braxton Fischer, Krista Pickett, Kayla Pickett, Brodie Fischer, Brooklyn Fischer, Aiden Pickett, Eli Pickett, Abigail Pickett, David Pickett, Millie Pickett, Dawson Pickett, Carter Pickett and Hadley Pickett and a host of nephews and nieces.

He grew up in multiple places that included McCrory, Truman, and Wynne, AR and Indio, CA. He married Catherine on January 17, 1953, in Wynne, AR. He served in the US Army 88 Recon during the Korean War.  After leaving the Army, he moved to Little Rock, AR with his wife and began a career in sales.

He was active in church.  He was a member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church.  He loved to fish for crappie, watch his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their many activities but playing the guitar was his favorite pastime.  In his later years, he enjoyed traveling around the state and seeing the sites and visiting some of his old friends.

Having not ever met a stranger, he leaves behind many friends that he enjoyed talking to and telling his jokes to.  He really enjoyed his Sunday School class at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church.  He will be missed by all of his friends and family.

Pallbearers are Ryan Pickett, Eric Pickett, Andrew Pickett, Tyler Pickett, Landon Pickett and Braxton Fischer.

Funeral services will be held at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, officiated by Curtis Barnes. Visitation will be 11am with services starting at noon.  Graveside services will be at Pinecrest Cemetery at 1pm.
