Charlcie Laverne Gibbs, 90 of Benton, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 18, 2026. She was born to the late Delbert and Ethel (Taylor) Depriest on February 19, 1935 in Paron, Arkansas.
She was a devoted grandmother who found her greatest joy in loving on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always greeting them with a smile and open arms.
Charlcie lived a full and active life and was known for her strong faith and servant's heart. She loved going to church, reading her Bible, singing in the choir, and teaching Sunday School. She enjoyed gardening, working around her home, cooking, playing dominoes and bingo, and spending time at the senior center. Charlcie also loved swimming in the creek, shopping, traveling, and spending precious time with her sisters.
She worked as a school bus driver and was involved with Habitat for Humanity, always willing to lend a helping hand. Known for her warm smile, kind spirit, and love for people, Charlcie left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her spouses, Lenny Russell and Delton Gibbs; her children, Keith Gibbs and Dorean Gibbs; her parents, Ethel Taylor and Delbert Depriest; her siblings, Steve, Mary, Louis, Elbert, Bobbie, Delbert, and Steve; and her grandparents, Rosie and Herman Taylor, and Green and Mary DePriest.
She is survived by her children, Delton Jr. Gibbs, Felecia Patterson, and Charles (Ashley) Gibbs; her grandchildren, Jeremy, Nathan, Israel, Bethany, Kristin, Dwayne, Erica, Hannah, Bryson, Trevor, and many grandchildren she considered her own which were Jordan, Hunter, Walker, Makayla, and Mariah holding each of them close to her heart; her siblings, Laveda Carter, Joyce Dudley, and Brenda Yarberry; and a host of many other family and friends whom she loved deeply.
Her legacy of faith, love, hard work, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 12:00 P.M. at Christ Church in Alexander, Arkansas. Visitation will begin one hour prior. Burial to follow at a later date at Bolin Cemetery in Paron, Arkansas.
