Obituary

Clara Frances Kummell Pickens 99 of Little Rock passed away on June 14, 2012. Clara was born on October 27, 1912 to Dr. Frank Ralph and Martha Sophia Adler Kummell in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. She graduated in 1932 from Little Rock Central High School. She was secretary to the mayor of Little Rock, Mayor Dan T. Sprick. She served 25 years as clerk of the Civil Division, Little Rock Municipal Court and retired in 1970. She was a long time member of First Christian Church and the Friendly sunday school class where she was active until her health failed. She was also Past Mother Advisor of Rainbow for Girls and Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star.
Mrs. Pickens is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert C. Pickens.
Mrs. Pickens is survived by her daughter, Constance (Connie) Riffe; two granddaughters; Lisa Marie Jordan, Gina Drawbaugh; two grandsons; Robert Balsam (Regina), Mark Balsam (Jamie); Numerous great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren and a host of family and friends who all loved her and will miss her dearly.
Memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
Special thanks to Arkansas Hospice and to floor five E at St. Vincent Infirmary. Service will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 11 am at First Christian Church in Little Rock.
