Daniel Jerome Ray, 68, of Bryant, Arkansas passed away on December 20, 2018. He was born to Nathan and Emma Louise Ray on March 8, 1950 in Yazoo City, Mississippi. He moved to Arkansas as a teenager, and he was a long time resident of Bryant. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and most delightfully, a grandfather.

He graduated from high school in Little Rock, and then received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Central Arkansas. He continued his education at the State College of Arkansas. He worked diligently in the insurance field until his retirement in 2016.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, two sisters, and his son, Christopher Daniel Ray.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Kathryn Ray; daughter, Dr. Natalie Ray Bishop and her husband, Dr. Michael Bishop of Germantown, TN, and their children, Emerson and Owen Bishop; who were his greatest joy and the light of his life. He is also survived by two sisters, Joyce Brantley of Conway and Zena Prestridge of West Monroe, LA.

Our time on this earth with Daniel was far too short and our lives are forever changed without him here, yet we take comfort knowing he is again with his beloved son in Heaven.

In keeping with Daniel's wishes, the family will have a private service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Arkansas Children's Hospital or to an environmental protection fund.
