Obituary

David Marter was a proud son, husband, father, and Pappy. He was born to Tilton and Lorita Marter on November 8, 1971, in Bastrop, LA. He always aimed to make his parents proud but also have fun with life.

David went on vacation with friends at the young age of 18 and fell in love with his wonderful wife, Christy. They married after only a year of a long-distance relationship and built a love story for the history books. David and Christy's love only grew over the next thirty years through the highs and lows. He joined the Army and was deployed in Desert Storm as a cannon crewmember for nearly four  years. As a proud patriot, he was honorably discharged from duty. He returned home to his wife in Washington State to continue building their life together. They then soon moved to Arkansas and became a carpenter by trade. They brought three loving children into this world, Jessica, Kendall, and Joshua. He had the honor to become Grand Pappy D to two adorable grandsons, Weston and Warren.

David loved his family fiercely. He welcomed all into his home, showered everyone with the love of Jesus, and could light up a room with laughter. He developed deep relationships with so many people who became friends and family.

David was called home on October 7, 2021, after a long fight with cancer.
