Obituary

David Edris Roberson, Jr., 75, of Bryant, Arkansas was born to the late David Edris Roberson, Sr. and Martha Lillian (Jameson) Roberson, on Tuesday, October 11th, 1949, in Searcy, Arkansas. He left this world a very loved man on Tuesday, June 17th, 2025, in the comfort of his home with his wife by his side, holding his hand. David was a decorated combat Veteran, having served our country in the Vietnam War and being awarded The Purple Heart. Later, he found his career in the Parts Department for both Premiere Pontiac and BMW of Little Rock, retiring from the latter as department manager after 46 years.

David lived life to the fullest. He loved horse racing, gambling, sports of every kind, WWE wrestling, karaoke and dancing, and spending time on the greens golfing. He adored his dogs. He enjoyed Motown and collecting records which often included funk and soul like The Temptations and The Commodores.

He is joined in eternal rest with his son, Geoffrey David Roberson; sister, Patty Bell (Doug); and his parents, David Edris Roberson, Sr. and Martha Lillian Roberson.

Left to cherish his memories and legacy is his loving wife of 43 years, Ava Burris Roberson; four children, Shawn Hardin (Brenda), Bud Roberson (Kristy), Brian Hardin (Stephanie), and Matt Roberson (Sarah); sixteen grandchildren, Kristen Roberson (Drew), Staci Purdy (Mason), Luke Roberson (Shelby), Bridgette Hardin (Blake), Dillon Hardin, Loren Stafford (Laith), Gracie Hardin, Peyton Roberson, Cash Roberson, Lance Roberson, Kalei Henderson, Taylor Roberson, Joe Heathcock, Jr., Cynda Lawrence, Danny Yarberry, Jr., and Haley Yarberry; seven great grandchildren, Miles Purdy, Eli Purdy, Frances Roberson, Ava Purdy, Nora Roberson, Nolan O'Neal, and Jax O'Neal; his brother, Terry Roberson (Holly); along with a host of other family and friends who love and miss him dearly.

Honorary pallbearers include Terry Roberson, Clint Bell, Shawn Hardin, Bud Roberson, Brian Hardin, and Matt Roberson.

His celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 10th, 2025, at 3:30 P.M. at the Oaklawn Racetrack Infield with reception to follow at the Oaklawn Track Kitchen.

Guest are invited to bring lawn chairs for the short infield service if desired.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Saline County Veteran's Fund or Bryant Animal Control & Adoption Center.
