David Dewayne Whitfield 53 of Bauxite passed away on Tuesday, August 04, 2009 peacefully at his home surrounded by the love of his family. David was born on July 13, 1956 to F. C. and Joyce Whitfield in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was the founder and owner of Whitfield Appliance Service for over 20 years. David was a very caring and loving man; he never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in his community. He was a member of Zion Hill Church of God. David loved hiking, music, camping and was involved in jail ministry.

He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Sara; son, Peter; daughter, Sasha; father, F. C. "Whit" Whitfield; sister, Dewana Burns and husband, Tod; three nieces, Hannah and Anna Burns and Sarah Whitfield; two nephews, Matthews Burns and Scott Whitfield and many other family and friends who will all miss him dearly.

David is preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Whitfield and brother, Danny Whitfield.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home 4212 Hwy 5 North Bryant 501-847-9099 with brother Charles Powell officiating, burial will follow at Fairplay Cemetery.
