IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dearl Lee
Stone
January 2, 1940 – July 6, 2023
Dearl Lee Stone, 83, of Bryant, Arkansas passed peacefully from this life on July 6th, 2023, after a gradual decline in health. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family and caregivers during the last days of his life. He was born on January 2nd, 1940, to Pervie Lee and Mary Lou Stone, in Marion County, Alabama.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bearl Wilkes Stone; sisters, Sandra Kay Mercer and Lucille (Polly) Brackenrich; son-in-law, David Summers; and former wives, Peggy Sue, whom he was married to for 43 years, and the mother of his children and Elizabeth, whom he was married to for 14 years.
Remaining to share his memories are his four children, Teresa (David) Coffman, Steve (Trish) Stone, Sheila (Jimmy) Bunting, and Rhonda Summers; eight grandchildren, Amber, Jamie, Kevin, Jami, Kayla, Chris, Skylar, and Halo; eight great grandchildren, Beckett, Nathanial, Wyatt, Lily, Oliver, Danny, Alan, and Shyann; along with numerous other friends and family who love and miss him dearly.
He grew up in Wilson, Arkansas. He attended Arkansas State University for two years and Mississippi State University for two years, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science and Civil Engineering. After graduating college, he moved to Little Rock where he worked for the Little Rock District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 38 years and retired in 2000.
He played tennis and rode dirt bikes, but his passion was hunting. He was an avid duck, pheasant, and turkey hunter with his good friend, Bob. He loved his family and was the rock of stability. People might have seen him as reserved until they got to know him. He was very competitive, always with a mischievous grin when playing cards and games. He had a flirtatious nature and ladies were naturally drawn to him. He was kind-hearted and giving but was also very matter of fact and straight forward with his advice.
His celebration of life will be held on Monday, July 17th, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. with visitation one hour prior at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
