Obituary

Dorothy May (Port) Trudgian, 90, went to be with the Lord on May 27, 2015 in Benton Arkansas while in rehab for a broken hip she sustained from a fall on Mother's Day.
She was born in Amberg, Wisconsin, November 5, 1924, daughter of John and Nora (Westberg) Port. She lived in Amberg with her sister Eleanor (Port) Karr and Violet (Port) Mezei until graduating from Amberg High School. The family moved to Chicago, IL in 1943.

Dorothy married Lowell Donald Trudgian on November 4, 1944 in Chicago. She and Lowell moved to Bull Shoals Arkansas in 1967 and opened a restaurant and then a realty and a gift shop. Eventually the couple retired to Cave City, then Batesville and in the last three years Dorothy lived in Bryant where her Courtyard Cottage Complex Family loved her dearly.

Dorothy was preceded in death, by her parents, sisters and spouse (2008). She is survived by daughters, Sheryl Trudgian Jones (Dennis) and Carol Trudgian Smith (Jimmy); granddaughters, Heather (Jones) Anusbigian, Tambi (Jones) Nettelhorst (Todd), Melissa (Jones) Kramer (Chad) and Dori (Smith) Lyman (Rodney).

Also great-grandchildren, Courtney Lyman, Jonathan Lyman, William Anusbigian, Isabella Anusbigian, James Anusbigian, Megan Nettelhorst, Ashley Nettelhorst and Mackenzie Nettelhorst; great-great grandchildren, Aydien Lyman and Addyson Lyman.
Dorothy will be sorely missed as she was a very special mother and grandmother.

During her lifetime she held many work positions including working in a World War II factory to do her part in the war effort. She did a lot of volunteering for her community and the Cumberland Presbyterian Church to which she belonged. She enjoyed reading, tracing her genealogy, visiting with family and friends, traveling, and laughing whole heartedly playing board games with her granddaughters. Everyone who knew her found her sweet, interesting and kind.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday June 2, 2015 10:00 AM at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant Arkansas with burial to follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Monday at the Funeral Home. To sign online guest book please www.dialanddudleyfuneralhome.com
