Edgar Lee Pitts, 87, of Alexander, Arkansas went to be with his heavenly father on Saturday, June 24th, 2023. He was born to the late, Gilbert Pitts and Hester Hall on Thursday, August 15th, 1935, in Mayflower, Arkansas. Edgar was a man of great faith and witness to others. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, where he obtained the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class. He attended college in Alabama. Edgar retired from Merico Colonial Bakery and the VA Medical Center in NLR, Arkansas where he was serving as an Assistant Engineer, Chief Engineer, as well as a Trouble Shooter. He was loved by his family, and he was a great loving father and mentor to his children. His grandchildren adored him and called him papa.

Edgar is preceded in death by his mother and father, Hester and Gilbert Pitts; son, Kevin Pitts; brother, Herbert Pitts; and sister, Ann Pitts.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Shirlene Pitts; daughter, Karen Fisher; three stepchildren, Barry Bryant, Teresa McMonagle, and Tonya Lindsey; three brothers, Burl Pitts, Carl Pitts, and John Pitts; two sisters, Malva Snyder and Ava Martin; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; along with numerous other family and friends who all loved him and will miss him dearly.

There will be a private service held at a later date.
