Ekkehard William Spieckerman, 75 of Benton, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2009. Mr. Spieckerman was born on May 27, 1933 to the late Willie and Elfrieda Spieckerman in Selbitz, Germany. Ekkehard was very proud to be an American Citizen; he always said that he was "American by choice." He loved spending time outdoors taking in the beautiful scenery and nature that surrounded him. He also loved gardening, bird watching and fine wines. Mr. Spieckerman is preceded in death by his parents and his sister.

He is survived by his loving wife, Madge Spieckerman; three children, Lee, Carol and Jeffrey Spieckerman; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Stephen, Hadley and Haley Spieckerman.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Dial and Dudley Funeral Home 4212 Hwy 5 North, Bryant 501-847-9099.
