Fred Shemwell, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, was born on Monday, January 2nd, 1928, in Heber Springs, Arkansas, and he passed away on Thursday, April 24th, 2025 at the age of 97 years old. He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church for many years and proudly served in the U.S. Navy where he participated in two atomic bomb tests. Fred was a devoted Bible teacher for 36 years and his personal relationship with the Lord was evident by his daily walk.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Werner G. Shemwell and Gladdell (Hill) Shemwell, and his sister, Cleone Williams.

Left to cherish his memories and legacy is his loving wife of 76 beautiful years, Adelle Shemwell; his children, Bill Shemwell, Rick Shemwell and his wife, Sharon, and Robin Railsback and her husband, Billy; four grandchildren, Rebecca Brown, Rachael Irving, Ruth Shemwell, and Cody Railsback; five great grandchildren, Kaila Carson, Marshall Shemwell, Emily Freeman, Blake Railsback, and Beau Railsback; one great great granddaughter, Faith Freeman; along with other family and friends who all love him and will miss him dearly.

There will be a visitation held for Fred on Thursday, May 1st, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home.

His celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 2nd, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Heritage Baptist Church on Stagecoach with Rev. Guy Kelly and Dr. James M. Phillips officiating. He will be laid to rest following his service at Forest Hills Memorial Park.

Pallbearers include Cody Railsback, Marshall Shemwell, Mark Brown, Red Biancha, Nick Neely, and Mike Andrews.

Honorary pallbearers include Rev. David Winston and Billy Railsback.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heritage Baptist Church.
