January 12, 1940 – October 26, 2021
Fredrick "Rick" Haverkampf, age 81, of Mabelvale, Arkansas walked into the arms of Jesus on October 26, 2021, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born in Searcy, Arkansas on January 12, 1940, to the late, Stanley and Claire Haverkampf. In 1959, at the age of nineteen, Rick joined the Air Force and was stationed in San Francisco. He was very proud of his service to his country. After discharge Rick traveled the country creating great memories that he shared with his family. He later moved to Chicago and worked at Marklund, a home founded by his parents that served infants with serious and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs. He treasured life and lived every moment to the fullest. He loved his Lord, his family, his church and playing dominoes with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Brenda Haverkampf; one sister, Carla Gehrig and her husband, John, of Florida. He is also survived by two sons, Scott Haverkampf and his wife, Veronica, and Dale Haverkampf and his wife, Kim, all of Alabama. He has three stepdaughters, Angela Griffis and husband, Mike, of Louisiana, Penny Bomar and husband, Greg, of Arkansas and Marsha Watson and husband, Tony, of Arkansas. He leaves behind twelve grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jessica, Colby, Christopher, Brandon, Laura, Hannah, Micah, Drew, Zander, Cole and Lake and eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other family, friends and church family.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021, at 12:00 P.M. with the visitation one hour prior at Eagle Point Church of God in Little Rock.
Graveside will be held on Monday, November 1, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
