Obituary

Gary Lee Baker, 72 of Benton, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026. He was born in Benton, Arkansas on July 13, 1953 to the late Carol W Baker and Norma Elder. 

Gary loved his family more than anything, and his love for them was evident in everything he did. Alongside his devoted wife, Kathy, he worked tirelessly to provide for and care for those he loved. He was incredibly proud of his children, Jody and Dina, and the compassionate, hardworking adults they became. Seeing them raise their own children with the same values and love brought him great joy and pride.

Gary enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, camping, and taking long road trips in the motorhome. He was a talented builder who could create just about anything he set his mind to.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carol W Baker and Norma Elder.

Gary is survived by the love of his life for 54 years 10 months 26 days, Kathy Tackett Baker; Son, Jody Lee Baker (Kari); Daughter, Dina Lilly (Ryan); Brothers, Jerry Baker (Heather) and Tommy Baker (Della); Sister, Carol Ann Jarrett (Calvin); Six Grandchildren, Garrett Lee Baker (Creye), Erika LeeAnn Butler (Nik), Jesse Baker (Keely), Kaitlin Baker, Ashlin Baker (Michael), and Connor Lilly; Four Great Grandchildren, River Lee Baker, Kaelor Baker, Linden Baker, and Max Lee Baker; Nephews, Jason, Michael, Brian, and Caleb; Nieces, Stacie, Jenny, and Dana. He is also survived by aunts, many cousins, and so many friends.

Some of his most cherished moments were spent with his grandchildren. He loved watching Disney movies with them, especially the Land Before Time films. He taught five of his six grandchildren how to swim and could spend hours playing with them in the water. His grandchildren brought him endless happiness, and he treasured every moment with them.

Gary was a loyal Razorbacks fan and enjoyed sharing the simple moments of everyday life with his beloved wife of more than 54 years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, family, and countless memories that will be treasured forever.
