Gene Elizabeth Brown, 76, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.

Gene was born on Wednesday, February 2nd, 1949, to her mother, Gerald Anna Liebert, and her father, James George Brewington, in Sikeston, Missouri.

Gene is survived by her daughter, Melissa; her grandchildren, Gage, Jude, and Jesse; and her two great-grandchildren, Grayson and Freya.

Gene Brown lived her life in service of her family, friends, and neighbors alike. She projected a genuine warmth and an eagerness to provide a welcoming home, an empathetic ear, and convivial conversation. Her favorite time of the year was Thanksgiving because her favorite people were all under one roof at the same time.

She spent much of her free time acting as a member of the neighborhood committee, working to help bring new opportunities and resources to our community, tending to her garden, sewing clothes, making soap, and experimenting with new recipes with her grandson, Jesse, as the designated taste tester.

Gene loved her child and all of her grandchildren dearly. In her last few months before passing, she took great joy in spending time with her great-grandson, Grayson, and her grandson, Jesse. Even in sickness, those relatively brief moments gave her true fulfillment and happiness. Though she was not able to meet her other great-grandchild, Freya, before passing, she was ecstatic to know she is here and healthy, and felt great pride in Jude, knowing he will be an outstanding dad.

On the day she passed, she was surrounded by friends and family. Gage and Jesse stood next to her bed and caressed her hands while she peacefully drifted up to heaven.

All of her family and friends will miss her, and she will never be forgotten. We love you, Nana.

Gene's visitation and celebration of life will be held on Thursday, June 5th, 2025, with her visitation beginning at 11:00 A.M. followed by her service at 12:00 P.M. at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant, Arkansas.

She will be laid to rest at 1:00 P.M. following her funeral service at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
