George Gilbert Brown, age 81, of Bauxite, passed away October 6, 2015.
He was born January 27, 1934, to the late Clarence Alton Brown and Opal Doris Childress Brown,
of Bauxite. He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Ann Greer Brown, one son, Greggory Lynn
Brown and a sister, Brenda Reese of North Little Rock.
He is survived by his two daughters, Cindy Owen (Emery) of Benton, and Dee McCool (Carrol, "C.W. ) of
Bauxite; one brother, Douglas Brown (Margaret) of Benton and sister, Judy Archer (Ray) of East End,
his grandchildren, Colby Adcock (Erin) of England, AR, Mitchell Thompson of Hot Springs, Jordan Owen
Sanders (Michael) of Haughton, LA and Shayna Owen of Benton. Also, one great grandchild, Abigail
Lynn Adcock and one niece, Cathy Holcomb (Wayne) of Mayflower and nephew, Brent Hunnicutt of
Benton.
Gilbert is a Navy veteran where he served as an airman on the aircraft carrier, USS Princeton. He is
retired from American Cyanamid.
He was a hard worker, loved to hunt and fish, and had a garden up to age 79. He killed his last buck
at age 80. It was a non-typical. He was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church.
A special thank you goes to Carrol and Dee McCool for the faithful and countless hours of care and
attention given to dad during his stay in their home. Dedication of this nature, and the strength shown
truly comes from the love of God.
Graveside service only will be at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Friday October 9, 2015, at 11:30 with
Brother Kim Hammer officiating. Guest arrangements are by Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant.
