Obituary

Harvey Arthur Battles was born in the small community of Alread, Arkansas on October 30, 1943 and died in East End on June 23, 2018.  Arthur was preceded in death by his father, Harvey A. Battles; his loving parents, Wade and Grace Jones Young; brother, Perry Young; son, Phillip Battles, Sr.  Arthur is survived by his siblings, Bobby A Mitchell (Betty), Darrell Young, and Clara Faucett (Pat); his daughters, Tina Nichols (Jimi), Sherry Battles, and June Mitchell (Nick); grandchildren, Candace Young, Phillip Battles, Jr. (Mindy), Gregory Battles (April), James "Duckie" Chow, Matthew Battles (April), Brianna Duncan, Olivia Stepp, Ashley Stepp, and Brittany Stepp; great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Jayden, Phillip "PAB" III, Timothy (TJ), Landon, Jace, Isabella, Christian, Jessie, Jaden, Grayson, Emaree, Jaida, DJ, Carter, Maya, Zander, and Ryder.  Arthur is also survived by a host of nieces, a nephew, and many great nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Arthur also left behind his cherished fur-babies, Deacon and Stranger.

Arthur, or "Harvey" as a lot of people knew him, started working at a young age, and worked hard all his life.  Arthur had many successful years in the heating and air business, popularly known as "Harvey the Professional"; years later he started a vehicle repo business and became known to people in the industry as "Harvey the Bloodhound".  Arthur always called Arkansas home, with his second home being the Carolinas, where he lived many years in and around Wilmington, North Carolina, and Georgetown, South Carolina.

Cremation arrangements were handled by Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant, Arkansas.
