Harvey Howard, 88, of Alexander, went to be with his Lord and wife of 55 years on September 18, 2021, with his family by his side.  He was born on February 26, 1933, in Stamps, Arkansas. Harvey started working at the age of 13 and never stopped even through his retirement with Ryder Truck Rental.  He enjoyed being active in the community in which he lived, serving as Alderman for the City of Alexander, Board President at Saline County Water Works, Alexander Fire Department Chief, and countless others.  He even rallied a group of senior citizens to transfer vehicles around Arkansas and surrounding states on behalf of local car dealerships.  He enjoyed working very much.  However, he loved his wife and entire family most of all including his fur baby, Mandy.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Louise; son, Gary; parents, Oscar and Maggie Howard; brothers, Charlie, James, Loyce, William, and Thurston; and sisters, Nettie, Karena, Lizzie, Nellie, and Vonnie Lee.

He is survived by three sons, Harvey Jr., David Sr. (Lea), and Ted (Robert); two daughters, Audrey Little and Debbie Tyler (Rick);  daughter-in-law, Lisa; ten grandchildren, Barbara Eldridge (Will), Judy Ponder, Tina Wooldridge, Tracy Howard, Cheyanne Howard, Megan Howard, David Howard Jr.(Jennifer), Courtney Johnson (Scott), Shelby Tyler (Sarah) and Chris Tyler (Kayla); thirteen great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at 1:30 P.M. with visitation an hour prior at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Forest Hills Memorial Park following the service. Kim Hammer will be officiating.

Pallbearers are Shelby Tyler, Chris Tyler, Scott Johnson, Will Eldridge, James Lee, Blake Ponder, Lynden Johnson, and Matthew Tyler.

Masks and social distancing are mandated at the service requested by the family.
