Ida Maxine Morton Otey, age 90, of Alexander passed away on February 28, 2010 in Bryant.
Maxine was born on September 4, 1919 in Pottsville, Arkansas to her parents, R.H. and Lora Morton.She was a graduate of the Baptist State Hospital School of Nursing and served as a member of the Arkansas State Board of Nursing for many years.
Mrs. Otey is survived by her husband, of 57 years, R.C. Otey, sisters; Nola Morton Gibbs and husband Neil of Alexander, AR and Mary Mae Morton Jones and husband Jodie of Bentonville, Arkansas and her brothers; James Frank Morton and wife Betsy of Jacksonville, AR and Floyd "Shorty" Morton and wife Louise of Anton, Texas. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Jean Morton of Seattle< Washington along with many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives who will miss her dearly.
Maxine is preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers; Orb and Bob Morton.
A celebration of Maxine's life will be held at 12:00p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant, 501-847-9099, with Bro. Darrel Drennen officiating.
Visitation will be held from 6-8p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that contributions be made to the Maxine Otey scholarship at the Baptist School of Nursing.
