Ira "Gene" Welshhons 65 of Benton passed away on August 7, 2008. Gene loved spending time with his children and his precious grand daughter, Lylyanna. He was a member of the Chosen Few Motorcycle Club and an avid John Wayne fan. Gene was born on October 24, 1942 in Knoxville, Iowa to the late, Garold Joseph and Maxine Myra Welshhons. Gene is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jack Welshhons. He is survived by his loving daughter, April Ibarra (Rigoberto); one son, Jeremy Welshhons; one step daughter, Samantha Cass; one grand daughter, Lylyanna Ibarra; two sisters, Marilyn Marshall and Kay Bolejack; three brothers, Glenn, Gary and Charles Welshhons. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other family and friends who loved him. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2008 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home 4212 Hwy 5 North Bryant (501) 847-9099. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, August 11, 2008 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Gene Welshhons Memorial Fund c/o Metropolitan National Bank.
