IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Edward
Arnold
January 28, 1938 – April 14, 2024
On Sunday morning, April 14th, 2024, James Edward Arnold, passed away at the age of 86. James was born on Friday, January 28th, 1938, in Independence, Kansas to Mary Louise Harshman and James H. Arnold. He is the father of John Arnold and his wife, Vickie, of Benton and James, Jr of California. He is the step-father of Rhonda Boyd, and husband Jon, also of Benton. He is preceded in death by his parents, by Leona, his wife of 59 years, and by his daughter, Diana Arnold.
James married Leona on February 26, 1965, in Carson City, Nevada. With their children, John and Rhonda, they moved from Sacramento California to Benton Arkansas in 1998.
James served in the US Navy during the Korean War and loved sharing his memories of his travels with his family and friends. He enjoyed being near the ocean and spending time with his family fishing and boating. One of his greatest joys was sitting around the dinner table playing dominoes or Aggravation.
James was a member of Christ Church in Little Rock, Arkansas where he served in the music ministry playing guitar and singing. His dedication to worshiping God through music touched countless lives throughout the years. James loved to share his memories of starting the Young at Heart ministry at Christ Church and was always talking about ways to serve the Lord.
His last weeks were spent looking for people to share the gospel with. When confronted with the terminal diagnosis, instead of denying or complaining, James said "I'm not going to die. I know where I'm going, so let's do this." He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Services will be held at Christ Church, 11800 Vimy Ridge Road, Little Rock, Arkansas on Monday, April 22nd, 2024, beginning with visitation at 10:00 am followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am.
