When Jim was nine his family moved to Jacksonville, Arkansas after living in several states, where his dad served in the Air Force. Jim attended Jacksonville High School before enlisting in the Army at the age of 17. Though his service was short, he took great pride in his veteran status and held a lifelong affinity for the Army. Following his military service, Jim returned to Indiana to work as an electrician at LTV Steel to help provide for his mother after his father's passing. He remained with LTV Steel until his retirement in the early 1990s. It was during his time in Indiana that he met his soul mate and wife, Nanci. Jim played baseball as a child and again as an adult along with softball as a catcher. He coached girls' softball and later coached his younger daughters' softball team, serving as team statistician. He found great joy in sharing his love of music with his children and the peaceful pastime of fishing.
Jim will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
Honorary Pallbearers, Chris Archer, Kadin Fox, Spencer Fox, Braxton Fox, Dillon Booth, and Josh Corie.
