Jim Lumpkins, 73, of Benton was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 5, 2017. Jim was born September 4, 1943 in Bauxite, Arkansas to the late, James Garland Lumpkins Sr. and Helen Margaret (Wright) Lumpkins. Jim was a faithful member of Mountain View Missionary Baptist Church in Benton. He loved his church and church family.
Jim was retired from Alcoa in Bauxite and Independent Air in Little Rock. He was also a veteran of the Arkansas Army National Guard.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Dianne Lumpkins; one brother, Reverend Rick Lumpkins and father-in-law Jim Scantlin of Hiwasse, Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Marcy Scantlin Lumpkins; mother-in-law Ella Scantlin; one son, Stacy Lumpkins (Carissa); four daughters, Monica Marshall (David), Shelly Pledger (Darrin), Deena Coburn (Matt) and Mendi Jordan. Nine grandchildren who were the joy of his life, Tiffani Pledger, Kacey Pledger, Jona Jordan, Abbi Davis, Maddison Coburn, Hayden Lumpkins, Gabe Jordan, Carlee Davis and Addison Lumpkins.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and numerous extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Dial & Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant with Brother Phillip Batchlor and Brother Cecil Hyde officiating. Interment will follow at New Rosemont Memorial Park in Benton.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2017 from 6-8 PM at Dial & Dudley Funeral Home.
