James Russell "Doc" Moneypenny, aged 73, passed away on August 16, 2024, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Born on September 3, 1950, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Russell and Carolle Moneypenny, James dedicated his life to serving others, both as a Doctor of Psychology and as a member of the United States Army.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Bonnie F. Moneypenny; daughters, Kelly Wilson and her husband Steve, Jennifer Dabbs and her husband Allan; siblings, Nancy Rippey and her husband Danny, Julia Moneypenny and her husband Jim Harris, Steve Moneypenny and his wife Robin; grandchildren, Dylan Clark and his wife Ashley, Natalie Dominguez and her husband Gavino, Christian Shelton, Austin Shelton and his wife Brooklyn, Samuel Shelton, Emily Machycek and her husband Dylan, Reagan Lovell and her husband Tyler, Devin Wilson, and Brandon Wilson; along with ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Carolle Moneypenny.
Jim earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Artsdegrees from the University of Northern Iowa, his Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling and Mental Health Services from the University of Missouri, and later served honorably in the United States Army, where he embraced the discipline and camaraderie that military life offered. His career as a psychologist was marked by a compassionate approach to mental health, providing guidance and support to many during his distinguished career.
An avid enthusiast of music, fishing, traveling, and camping, Jim found peace and joy in the great outdoors and often shared these passions with his family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held in his honor on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home, located at 4212 AR-5, Bryant, AR 72022.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Pulaski County Humane Society. Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant, AR, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Doc's legacy of warmth, wisdom, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
