Reverend James L. Rutherford, Jr., 55, of Bryant, Arkansas; formally of Gurdon, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019. He was born to James L. Sr. and Betty Scott Rutherford on Wednesday, November 27, 1963 in North Little Rock, Arkansas. He loved to fish, spread the word of God, and minister to others. He enjoyed going antiquing with his wife and spending time with his family. He was employed at Second Chance Youth Ranch and has five foster children. He was a proud youth pastor for twelve years and a machinist for over 20 years and enjoyed making things with his hands.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Remaining to share memories are his loving wife of 28 years, Cathy Rutherford; children, Cristi Kelley, Caleb Rutherford, and Dakota James Rutherford; five foster children; four grandchildren, Chasity, Gabi, Cameron, and Alexis; parents, Betty and Gene Standridge; one sister, Dana; two brothers, Jeff and Scotty; along with a host of friends and other family who loved and miss him dearly.

Th celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. with the visitation one hour prior at Family Church in Bryant.

The interment will be held at Dobyville Cemetery at 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 22, 2019.
