Janiya Elise Carter, 17, of Benton, Arkansas left this world too soon on Friday, June 30th, 2023. She was born to, Danny Lee Carter and Miranda McBride, on Monday, August 22nd, 2005, in Little Rock, Arkansas with her twin sister by her side. Janiya was such a loving and sweet girl, even if she would punch you and roughen you up on occasion. Either that, or she would show off her toy. You never knew what you were going to get! That is just how she liked to show you her love. She loved family time with her mother, brother, Jaden, and her bonus father, Nathan. She loved watching movies, TV shows, and really any musical shows. Her favorites were Glee, Victorious, Frozen, Trolls, and especially, Happy Feet, since that was her sister's favorite. She always enjoyed car rides, especially when they involved going to Bath and Body Works with her mama! Janiya also enjoyed watching and hearing the fireworks her brother would set off on the Fourth of July.

She is preceded in death by her twin sister, Johnetta Elaine Carter; grandmother, Johnetta Elaine Moore Adams; grandfathers, Hubert Earl McBride and Robert Glenn Adams; uncle, Earlie Fisher, Jr.; great aunt, Belinda Ann Garrett; and great grandmother, Louise Garland.

She is survived by her loving mother, Miranda McBride; her stand in father who loved her like his own, Nathan Keaton; her brother, Jaden Holland; her father, Danny Carter; uncles, Marcus Moore of San Diego, CA, and Michael Allen, and Dwright Woodard; aunts, Ashley McBride Shaikh and Barbara Turner; grandmother, Sissie Standford; along with a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who all love her and will miss her dearly.

Janiya's family will be having a private celebration of life.
