Obituary

On the morning of Wednesday, April 26th, 2023, Jennie Lee Stewart-Hager, was called to be with the Lord in her heavenly home, after 79 years of life. She peacefully passed surrounded by her family. She was born in the small town of Warren, Arkansas, on Sunday, November 14, 1943. She was the middle child of Louis and Elizabeth Gustavus.

Jennie Lee was a member of Balboa Baptist Church in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, where she enjoyed fellowship with her church family. Jennie enjoyed traveling and adventures with her family and friends. She loved her ladies card group, shopping trips, and grandkid outings. Jennie lived her life with kindness, compassion, and generosity.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Elizabeth Gustavus; her first love, high school sweetheart, and husband, Kenneth Cantrell Stewart; much beloved husband, Bob Hager; her younger brother, Robert Gustavus; and her dear friend, Bill Stucker.

Jennie Lee is survived by her two sons, Greg (Kim) Stewart of Benton, Arkansas and Lee (Rebekah) Stewart of Perryville, Arkansas; oldest brother, Doctor John (Pam) Gustavus; devoted to her seven grandchildren, Ashton, Brennen, Brenna, Brayden, Rylee, Alley, and Evan; along with numerous nieces and nephews; her lifelong friend, Pat Stewart and many others around Perryville and Hot Springs Village; and lastly, her parakeet, Buffy, whom she talked to and doted over every moment of the day.

She was a cherished friend, mom, and mimi who lived each day to the fullest and will forever be missed.

Jennie's visitation will be held on Monday, May 8th, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home to celebrate her life. Her burial will be held on Tuesday, May 9th, 2023, at 11:00 A.M at Ragsdale Cemetery in Perryville, Arkansas.
