Jerry "Punkin" Melton 71 of Benton, went on his last ride to be with the Lord on July 20, 2016. He was born on November 7, 1944 to J. C. (Bill) Melton and Berta Bratton Melton in Beech Grove, Arkansas.
Punkin loved riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing, music, and people. He made everyone feel like his best friend. He was the pastor of Iron Horse Church, founder of Highways and Hedges Motorcycle Ministries and he served as Chaplain for various motorcycle clubs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and stepson, Wesley Coker.
Punkin is survived by his loving wife of nineteen years, Sweet Baby Rhonda Melton; eight children, Mandy Creel (Frankie), Lonnie Joe Melton (Rebecca), Lynn Melton (Christy), JuWan "Ju Ju" Tharp (Chris), Jason Coker (Stephanie), Bronson Melton (Leticia), Jay Sawyer (Caroline) and Pepper Austin (Rob); twenty three grandkids; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Steve Melton (Barbara); and a host of family and friends who all loved him and will miss him dearly.
A celebration of life will be on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant.
Following the service the family will meet together with friends at the Iron Horse Church on Chicot Rd.
