Jessie F.
Younger
Oct 29, 1938 — Jul 16, 2026
Mabelvale
Jessie F. Younger, of Mabelvale, Arkansas, entered her eternal rest on July 16, 2026. Born on October 29, 1938, in Nashville, Arkansas, she was welcomed into the world as Jessie Fern Fisher, daughter of the late James Floyd Fisher and Gracie Mae Holcombe Fisher. She was a 1956 Nashville High School Graduate.
Jessie’s life was shaped by deep faith and a heart that never stopped giving. She found meaning in words, often expressing herself through poetry. Those who knew her remember her kindness as steady and sincere, her generosity as instinctive, and her support as unwavering. Jessie had a gift for lifting others—her humor brought comfort, her smile brought ease, and her love was offered freely to all who needed it.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 60 years, Donald Ray Younger Sr.; her daughter, Gail Houge; her infant great grandson, Karl Jewell; and her brothers, Floyd Ray Fisher and Fred Fisher.
Jessie leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory: her sons Don Jr. of Nashville; Douglas of Little Rock; Scott of Mabelvale; and Philip and his wife, Jeffrie Ann, of Palm Bay, Florida. She is also survived by seven grandchildren—Terry Whitmire, Susan Parker, James Whitmire, Amy Jewell, James Robert Younger, Colton Younger, and Zachary Younger—along with eleven great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the words she wrote, and the love she gave so freely. Jessie’s presence was a blessing, and her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her.
