Jimmy D. Patton, age 77, of Benton died on September 9, 2009 at Saline Memorial Hospice in Bryant.
He was born October 7, 1931 in Port Arthur, Texas to his late parents, Earl and Lorena Patton.
Jimmy was a veteran and served 4 years with the Air Force in the Korean Conflict. He attended the University of Southern California. He also received his masters' degree at Compton College. He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a law degree, where professors are still using and studying his law briefs. Jimmy served with JFK in Northern Arkansas as a campaign manager. He was president of the Young Democrat Party of Arkansas. Jimmy also served as Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for seven years in Pulaski and Perry County. He retired from Blue Cross- Blue Shield.
Mr. Patton is preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, W. E. Patton, Robert Patton, Ralph Patton, Earl Patton Jr. and Donald Patton; three sisters; Vivian Tyler, Marjorie Ford and Rosemary McDonald.
He is survived by one sister, Shirley Beckwith and many nieces and nephews.

Services for Mr. Patton will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home, in Bryant. (501) 847-9099
