Joan Isabel Waldrop, age 74, of Benton, passed away on September 30, 2009 in Bryant.
Ms. Waldrop was born on January 20, 1935 in Muscatine, Iowa to her parents William B. Lattin and Doris Drury. She was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star, along with being a Sunday School teacher for many years, but what she liked doing more than anything was spoiling her grandchildren.
Ms. Waldrop is survived by her son, Tony D. Waldrop (Carrie) of Austin, Texas, Daughters; Jacqie D. Waldrop of Bryant and Janel D. Broadhurst (James) of Benton. She is also survived by 2 brothers; William B. Lattin of California and John A. Lattin of Hot Springs, 2 sisters; Audrey A. Hanks (Glen) and Mavis J. Shouse both of Iowa, 8 grandchildren; Joseph D. Waldrop (Jennifer) of Redwater, Texas, Jennifer E. Williamson (Kenneth) of Hope, Arkansas, Glenn Wilson (Denise) of Silver Springs, Maryland, Jessica D. Waldrop of Bryant, Brandi L. Hays of Bryant, Ryan A. Broadhurst of Little Rock, Tyler C. Broadhurst and Amber Lacy Broadhurst, both of Benton and 6 great-grandchildren; Dallas Diane Williamson and Taylor Williamson, both of Hope, Arkansas, Samantha and Beau Luplow, both of Redwater, Texas and Branden and Shyanne Waldrop, also of Redwater .
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 40 years, J.D. Waldrop, 2 brothers; Raymond Lattin of Hot Springs and Howard Roy Lattin of Benton and 2 sisters; Vivian F. Ulmer and Doris Miller.
Services for Ms. Waldrop will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 2, 2009 at the Church at Rock Creek in Little Rock, with burial to follow at Ashdown Cemetery in Ashdown, Arkansas at 3:00 p.m.
Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
