John Arthur 88 of Benton passed away on November 13, 2010 as a result of a heart attack. He was born on March 3, 1922 in Heber Springs, Arkansas. John served in the Pacific with the Army in World War II. He earned multiple degrees from Harding College and The University of Arkansas. He taught math and computers to high school and college students in Arkansas and Florida. John was a member of Central Arkansas Church of Christ. He loved blue grass music and enjoyed visiting Mt. View. He loved jokes and was always a pleasant person to be around.
He is preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Bickle.
John is survived by his son, Art; daughter, Elaine; two sisters, Jannis Ball of Bryant and Frances Johnson of Little Rock; two granddaughters; one grandson; one great granddaughter and several nieces, nephews and friends.
