John Hamby Brown Jr. 53 of Mabelvale passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2010. John was born on December 26, 1956 to the late John Hamby Sr. and Bonnie Brown in Camden, Arkansas. He was retired Chief of Police of Alexander and Shannon Hills. John loved spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his children. He was a member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church. John is survived by his wife of 20 years, Karen Brown; five children, Tyler, Justin, Kristin, Austin and Sierra Brown; sister, Bonnie Richardson and her husband, Leon; four nieces, Laura Richardson, Lynn Golfis, Heather Ziarnik and Heather Briqnoni and a host of other relatives and friends who all loved him and will miss him dearly. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2010 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home 4212 Hwy 5 North, Bryant. Funeral service will be Monday, March 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery.
