John William Haugen passed away December 19th, 2024, at the age of 80. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose love and generosity knew no bounds. John was known for his easy-going, caring, humorous personality, and was always willing and ready to lend a helping hand.
John is survived by his best friend and wife, Lynn Haugen; children, Tina Puhalla (Joseph Puhalla) and John Urbach (Amanda Urbach); grandchildren, Haley Puhalla, William Puhalla, Xander Urbach, and Brycen Urbach; brother, Eric Williams. John was predeceased by his parents, Opal and Carl Williams; and sister, Renee Gray.
John was born on August 24, 1944. John was an Army Veteran with 2 purple hearts who enlisted at the age of 17. John proudly served his country for 22 years. After 11 years in the Army, 1961-1973, John spent another 11 years in the National Guard. He then had a 30-year career with the US Postal Service, retiring in 2004.
In retirement, John enjoyed fishing, golfing, boating, and watching NASCAR. John was an active member of the church for many years and spent countless hours volunteering within the community. However, above all, he enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and his fur babies.
Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 11:00 A.M with visitation one hour prior at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home . Graveside to follow at The Arkansas State Veteran Cemetery at 1:00 P.M.
