IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John David
Held
February 4, 1951 – September 6, 2022
John David Held, 71, of Bauxite, Arkansas, left this earth on September 6th, 2022. He was born on February 4th, 1951, to Edward Carlisle Held Jr. and Latita Ann Wittmer Held in Kansas City, KS. John grew up in Bartlesville, OK where he attended Madison Jr. High School and Bartlesville College High school. He furthered his education at NEO A&M Miami, as well as Oklahoma State University Stillwater, where he excelled in theater, drama, and choir. He also flourished at guitar, piano, multiple stringed instruments, as well as anything he could get his hands on; all the while putting together multiple bands over the course of his life. Along his journey he opened his first business; H&H Racing, where he enjoyed building race cars from the ground up, including his famous Fiat Spyder, "Patience". He raced "her" in events across the U.S. and won multiple titles to include wins at Texas World Speedway and Road Atlanta. Later, John became the famous owner and operator of Independent Fiat and Universal Auto Imports, and quickly became known as "Fiat John". He always had a zest for life, and always strived to live it to the absolute fullest. He loved wholeheartedly, was generous, caring, and a beacon of friendship to anyone he met. Throughout the years he rejoiced in the small things; silly jokes, pranks, and telling stories of the "good ole days". He touched many lives and cherished, above all, every single moment with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his Parents. John is survived by his loving wife of 41 years; Carolyn Held, his three daughters, Evonda Turpin, Sarah Bankston, and Lou Cindy Held; his seven grandchildren, Lillian, Zenobia, Daniel, Téa, Levi, Lexaviar and Cadence; his brother, Steve Held; sisters, Jennie Knode, Karen Daniel, and special friend Gene Dickerson along with an abundance of family and friends who all love him and will miss him dearly. A celebration of John's life will be held at Dial & Dudley Funeral Home located at 4212 Hwy. 5 North Bryant, AR 72022 on Sunday September 25th, 2022, beginning at 2:00pm.
The family graciously requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made in honor of John D. Held to the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute at UAMS in Little Rock, AR. Donations can be made at here .
