Obituary

John Ronald Nolley (Paw Paw), 74 of Alexander, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2008. John was a retired Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant. During his twenty year military career he proudly served in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. In the 90's he was known in the Little Rock Advertising community as a master craftsman. Given a design and materials, he could build anything. In recent years he was known for his mobile home, which was painted blue and covered with clouds, driving a long blue van, wearing a hat (which he always politely removed indoors), spending time with his family and hanging out at local restaurants flirting with the waitresses. Mr. Nolley is preceded in death by his loving wife, Norma Jean Nolley; brother Bill Nolley and sister, Mary Ellen Nolley; infant granddaughter and infant great grandson. He is survived by sons; Jeffrey Lance, Jace Lamont (Pam), Jacob Lloyd, Jadre Lox, and Justin Lee (Cindy) Nolley; one daughter, Dawne Elizabeth Nolley; two daughter-in-laws, Anne Nolley and Kelly Nolley Bergin; one step-son Chris Courtney; grandchildren; Chris, Blake, Marianne, Taylor, Tessa, Amy, Jessica, Jeremy, Marcus, Joshua, Nichole, Jaden, Linden and Ashton Nolley, Steven Branson and Valesca Courtney; six great grandchildren; four sisters; Gayle (Carl) Lephart, Gloria (Bob) Immel, Linda Hannon and Cathyann Conner; one brother Jay (Penny) Nolley; mother of his children, Mary Nolley King and many other relatives and friends who all loved him and will miss his dry wit, corny jokes and generous nature. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home 4212 Hwy 5 North Bryant. Arrangements are being provided by Dial and Dudley Funeral Home 4212 Hwy 5 North, Bryant 501-847-9099. Click on the following link to view Mr. Nolley's video tribute.
