Joseph Lee Self Sr., 81, of Benton went to be with the Lord on April 1, 2019 with his family by his side. He was born on July 22, 1937 in Calhoun City, Mississippi to the late Henderson and Jessie Lee Self. Joseph enjoyed coaching baseball, cheering for the Arkansas Razorbacks, and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Self, two brothers, and four sisters.

Joseph is survived by one sister, Diane Barrett; three sons, Joseph Self Jr., Jeff Self (Deborah) and Jason Self (Michelle); daughter, Jill Sanders; eight grandchildren, Josh Self (Hannah), Keith Self (Jennifer), Bryson Self (Ronnie), Blake Self, McKenzie Hansen (BJ), McKlay Self, Tyler Sanders, and Mason Self; seven great grandchildren, Henry, JT, Hunter, Blakely, Henderson, Kinsley, and Karsyn; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who all loved him and will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be Saturday April 6, 2019 at 10:00 AM with a celebration of life beginning at 11:00 AM at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant.

A graveside service will follow at Hebron Cemetery in Carlisle.
