Judy Dare Plumlee, 85, of Maumelle, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born on December 16, 1940 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Harry Chester Huie and Edna Earl Lyons Huie.
Judy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose life was rooted in faith, family, and simple joys. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, James Allen Plumlee, as well as her children Printer Plumlee and John Mark Plumlee.
Judy was known for her feisty spirit and hardworking nature. She was an accomplished seamstress and took pride in caring for her home and those she loved. She enjoyed reading, cleaning, gardening, and cooking homemade comfort food that brought her family together. She lived a frugal life and could often be found searching out garage sales and thrift stores, always finding treasures in the little things.
Her faith was a guiding light in her life. Judy was passionate about listening to her Bible tapes and faithfully reading her Bible through each year. She attended Word Aflame Church, where she formed devoted friendships. Her church family was a great support to her, providing transportation and care, which she and her family deeply appreciated.
Judy leaves behind her children Roger Plumlee and wife Brenda of Maumelle, and Dana Plumlee of Maumelle. She is also survived by her grandchildren Leland Gough, Allen Gough, Josh Plumlee, Melissa Chase and husband John, Nathanael Gough, Zach Plumlee and wife Skyla, Seth Plumlee, Zane Plumlee and wife Kyly, and Quinten Chambers, along with eight great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sisters Earline Bauman of Palm Bay, Florida and Elizabeth Jane Huie of Yukon, Oklahoma.
Judy was preceded in death by her siblings Roger Huie, Jerry Huie, Ethel Jean Roberson, and Shirley Fortson.
She will be remembered for her resilient strength, her unwavering faith, and the love she poured into her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the home she built with care and devotion.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 11:00 AM with visitation 30 minutes prior at Word Aflame Church.
Pallbearers will be Leland Gough, John Chase, Allen Gough, Nathanael Gough, Seth Plumlee, and Quinten Chambers.
Judy also leaves behind beloved nieces, nephews, and special friends who will cherish her memory.
