Karen Sue McKinney, 67, of Benton, Arkansas passed away on October 30, 2021, after a lengthy battle with breast cancer.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Paula Teehee, and her sister, Glenda Clough.

She is survived by her father, G.A. McKinney; her sister, Brenda (Stump) Page of Benton, Arkansas; her brother, Greg (Robin) McKinney of Barclay, MD; her sister, Alicia (Travis) Fellinger of Honolulu, HI; nephews, Jamie Page and Jeff Page of Benton, Arkansas, Jason Clough of SC, and Ian McKinney of Arkansas; and niece, Cassie Fellinger.

Karen was born in Argentia, Newfoundland on September 8, 1954, a little sooner than expected at 6 months rather than full-term, complicated delivery, a little "preemie" weighing 3 pounds, 2 ounces with a will to survive during a time when neonatal care was not nearly as advanced as it is today. Though she struggled in her life with some things most of us don't, she was always trying. She loved learning everything she could. She loved to compete and was quite a swimmer in her younger days. She loved to listen to music and sing, to draw and paint, and crochet, but most of all, she loved her family. It showed in everything she did and said. To be with Karen was to be special. She just made us feel that way. We could not have been more special to her, however, than she was to us. We will miss her smiles, her laughter, and her beautiful presence always.

She was a resident at the Arkansas Health Center for about 7 years where she was so well cared for, and all of her nursing staff members were her extended family. She loved every one of them. We are so very fond of and grateful to them for the love they shared with her and with us.
