Larisa K. Hunter-Hampton was born March 4, 1980 to Reynae Cennett and Carliss Garner in Harvey, Louisiana. Larisa departed her life on February 26, 2013 at Saline Hospice Hospital at the age of 32. Larisa accepted Christ into her life at an early age and was baptized at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Marreo, Louisiana. Larisa later attended Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church where she was on the church drill team. Larisa was married to Bruce Hampton on February 26, 1999. Bruce was by her side on their anniversary February 26, 2013 when Larisa left him to be with her Lord and Savior. Larisa was loved by all she met. Her Grandmother said that if you had to describe Larisa, you would have to start with her smile. Larisa had a beautiful smile that would light up a room when she walked into it. Larisa loved to play sports. Throughout her childhood she spent most of her time playing softball, running track or cheering at Martin Luther King Playground. After moving to Benton, Larisa was employed by Saline Memorial Hospital where she worked as a receptionist in the Radiologist Department. Before moving to Benton, Larisa was employed at Bayside Nursing Home in Gretna, Louisiana. Larisa's family was the love of her life. Although she only got to visit with her nephew Anthony a few times before her death, she was proud of the newest addition to the family. Larisa was very proud of her brother Ronald for being accepted and signed to play football at Arizona State University. She was a devoted member and loved her church family at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Larisa is preceded in death by her loving Grandfather, Clarence Hunter, Sr.; Great-Grandmother, Ellen Baptist; Great Nephew, Devin M. Hampton, Cousins, Jennifer Lanaute and Calvin Jenkins. Larisa leaves to cherish her memories, a loving husband of 16 years, Bruce Hampton; four sons, Makiya Hunter, Brushawn Hunter, Brandon Hunter and Bruce Hampton III; three daughters, Breonnia Hunter, Aivante Hampton and Briante Hunter; her Godchild Gabriel E. (Ziggy) Allen Jr. her parents; Reynae (Lisa) Cennett and Carliss (Robert) Garner; five brothers, Reynae Hunter, Ronald J. Lewis, Damarcus R. Hunter, Jordan Cennett and Renald J. Cennett; four sisters, Carissa Cook, Tymekia Hunter, Kashawn Bland and DyShiana R. Lewis; 9 sister in laws; Anita and Shannon Hampton, her husband's twin Betty ( Bruce) Washington, JoJeanna(Gabriel) Allen, Christen, Latanya, & Monique Green and 8 brother in laws; Johnny (Karen),Kenneth, Ricky & Richard Hampton, Richard(Monica) & Derick( Stacy) Green. Mother-in-law, Mildred Hampton, grandmother, Dorothy R. Hunter, several stepchildren whom she loved dearly as her own; her dear friend and cousin, Enetra Hunter, caregiver and friend Dale Thomas. Her favorite niece; Shanice (Chedda) Hampton. Also a host of aunts, uncles, other nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. Celebration of life will be held on Monday, March 4, 2013 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church at 6:00 PM. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. There will be a celebration of her life held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Mt.
