In Memoriam: Laron J. Riggs
With heavy hearts and fond memories, we bid farewell to a cherished husband, father, and grandfather Laron J. Riggs. He passed away on August 5, 2023 leaving behind a legacy that will forever be etched in the hearts of all who knew him.
Born February 5, 1944 to the late H.C. (Jack) Riggs and Ann Lucy Carter Riggs in Morrilton, Arkansas, Laron J. Riggs grew up and was raised in North Little Rock. At age 16 he joined the Navy serving 4 years. Later in life, Laron owned and operated a successful business in the community for 33 years that still serves and operates as a family business today. He was a man of remarkable character and dedication. Throughout his life, he touched the lives of countless individuals, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to have known him.
At the center of his world stood his loving wife of 54 years, Ruth Ann Rodney Riggs. Their union was a testament to enduring love and devotion, an inspiration to all who witnessed their bond. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and shared memories.
As a father, Laron was a guiding light and a pillar of support to his two children, Gregory Laron Riggs (Randi) and Lori Ann Williamson (Kyle). He imbued in them the values of compassion, perseverance, and the importance of family. His loving presence will continue to be felt as they carry his legacy forward.
Laron's involvement with the Geyer Springs ballpark was a testament to his passion for sports and his dedication to the community. As a respected coach, he selflessly mentored and inspired numerous young athletes, instilling in them not just athletic skills but also valuable life lessons of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
Among the joys of Laron's life were his beloved grandchildren: Kylee and Lauren Williamson, and Ryan and Jaxon Riggs. He cherished every moment spent with them, doting on their every achievement and encouraging them to pursue their dreams. His impact on their lives will forever be cherished, and his spirit will continue to guide them in their endeavors.
In addition to his family, Laron also shared a special bond with his adored dogs, who brought him immeasurable joy and companionship over the years.
Laron J. Riggs leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to others. His memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Laron's visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, from 5:00-6:45 pm followed by a small service from 6:45-7:00 pm at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant, Arkansas.
