Lee Kinley, age 72 of Little Rock, went home to be with Jesus on May 20, 2016 surrounded by the love of his family. Lee was born on November 17, 1943 to the late William and Opal Kinley in the small town of Wabbaseka, Arkansas. He worked for more than 30 years as an automotive mechanic before retiring 12 years ago to spend more time with Mary, his wife that has held his heart and hands for almost 55 years.
Known by Pappy to most all who knew him, as well as a host of "adopted" grandchildren, Lee loved to go fishing with good friends, build things, and grow a vegetable garden, but many times you would find him walking, praying, or strumming his guitar and singing at the church in which he had given so many years of service.
Lee was a man of undeniable faith and character. After giving his heart to Jesus at the age of 31, he never missed an opportunity to share his love for God, letting his light shine to everyone he came in contact with. He was a man that not only spoke his faith, but lived his life to serve anywhere he saw a need.
Lee was survived by his wife Mary; two sons, Rickey Kinley and wife Nicki as well as Lance Kinley and wife Courtney; daughter Karen Stricklin and husband B.J.; five grandchildren, Leah Warner with husband Jacob, James Stricklin and wife Jessica, Kennedy, Jadyn, and Pierce Kinley; three brothers J.E., John, and Ronnie; two sisters Polly and Katie. He was preceeded in death by his parents and two sisters, Sheila and Mary Ruth. With a heart as big as Pappy's, there was always room for more, and he had become "God-grandfather" to many, including Johna Johnson, Kristina Yarberry, Kristi Holland, and Meghan Monehan.
Time and space would never allow for listing all of the friends, family, and loved ones that Lee "Pappy" loved so much. If he could send us all a message from the beautiful streets of Heaven, he would no doubt say "Ya'll come on when you can! Me and Jesus can't wait to see ya!"
