IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda Darlene
Gray
February 25, 1947 – July 18, 2024
Linda Darlene Stewart Gray passed away, with her husband and son holding her hand, on Thursday, July 18th, 2024, at 1:40 P.M. at the age of 77. She was born on Tuesday, February 25th, 1947, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to the late James F. and Bonnie H. Stewart.
She was known by most as "Lele" because that's what her four grandchildren called her (and she refused to be called Grandma or Granny). She and her husband, Kermit, were the ultimate true love couple, and would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this December. Linda had a love of life, dancing, adventure, animals, and travel. She visited all of Canada and all of the continental United States, mostly by motorcycle or Jeep. She retired after 33 years with the Arkansas State Health Department, serving as an assistant to the director. She was awarded the State of Arkansas Secretary of the Year and the Arkansas Noncommissioned Officer Spouse of the Year.
She was a great wife, sister, friend, and more. She was also a loving mother and great role model. Linda was kind, supportive, giving, hard-working, and put others before herself. She could brighten up a room with her smile, personality, and notoriously flashy fashion. She loved music, making corny jokes, dancing, and was a sucker for Hallmark movies. She was never afraid to be silly and always danced like no one was watching. She was loved by so many because she loved so much. Linda was one of the sweetest people one could ever meet. She is survived by her husband, Kermit Mell Gray; son, Shayne Michael Gray; grandchildren, Natalie Mychael Gray, Sophie Thomys Gray, Asher Michael Gray, and Spencer Morgan Gray; sisters, Kimberly June Stewart and Tammie R. Flake (Gary). She is preceded in death by her brother, David A. Stewart; mother, Bonnie H. Jordan Stewart; father, James F. Stewart; and grandparents, Emil and Addie Jordan.
Her celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 25th, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. with a memorial visitation one hour prior at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home.
