Obituary

Linda Grace Willis Howell passed peacefully on September 15, 2018, at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. She lived 69 years and filled all of them with wonderful memories of family and friends.

Linda was born on Friday, July 22, 1949, to Jim and Lola (Calhoun) Willis in Heber Springs, Arkansas. As a baby, Linda was quickly involved in family life as her sisters, Edna and Charlene (Charlotte), and brothers, Hix (James Jr.), Melvin, Sidney Clabe, and Buddy, all learned to live with the new baby in the house. Linda herself had to adjust when baby brother Ronnie showed up 10 years later.  She grew up in the north central hills of Arkansas, learning about family and faith with her siblings.

Early in her life, a new family moved into the house down the hill and Linda was so excited to find some girls to play with in the rural hills of north central Arkansas.  Over the years as she grew, one of her friends' brothers, Lannie, saw how special Linda was and they fell in love.  At the young age of 18, Linda and Lannie pledged their lifelong love to each other and began the next chapter of life in their journey together.

For the next 51 years, they shared a life full of joys and trials, determined to live it to the fullest.  They welcomed daughters Senna and Teresa, and later sons (Clinton) Clint and (Lannie) Matthew to complete their family, or so they thought. Little did they realize their loving family would grow to include sons-in-law and daughters-in-law, 10 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.

Her ability to keep everything together was put to the test through several moves over the years, including a quick foray to the west coast for a brief stint in Oregon.  After returning home to Arkansas, she settled into life by buying and running Melvin Cloud Moving Company with Lannie, while juggling "mom duties" to the kids and later the grandkids.  In the midst of everything, she "took time for herself" by studying, training, and achieving her nursing diploma (LPN) from Baptist Health Systems, and she maintained her LPN license the rest of her life. After 28 years of the managing the Moving Company, she retired with Lannie hoping to enjoy the quiet life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Clint, two brothers Hix and Melvin Willis, and a sister Charlotte Clark. She is survived by her husband Lannie, her daughter Senna (Jason) Howell, her daughter Teresa (David) Weston, her son Matthew (April) Howell; grandchildren Chance, Andrew (Maegan), Olivia, and Sophia Tilley; Clayton, Kevin, and Kate Weston; Joshua Howell; Alexandria and soon-to-be-here Logan Howell; great-grandchildren Callie Weston and Levi Tilley; step-granddaughter London Howell; sister Edna (Floyd) Boucher; brothers Clabe (Violet), Buddy (Betty), and Ronnie (Sherry) Willis; a sister-in-law Retta Willis; a brother-in-law Wenzel Clark; and numerous nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.
